After completing my first diploma in Horticulture in 2007, I moved to BC, to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Inspired by the landscapes and the communities I saw here, I completed a diploma as a Chartered Herbalist in 2011. While living on Salt Spring Island, learning how to farm organically, I was inspired by how our food shaped our health so I completed a diploma as a Holistic Nutritionist in 2014, while simultaneously completing my Certification in the Alchemy of Herbal Medicine that same year.

I love foraging and spend my time combing the forests, rivers and mountains for the medicinal plants, lichens and mushrooms that fill the Shoots & Roots Apothecary. I trust in nature, and the gift of medicine that the land offers us all. I walk gently and only take where there is enough. I believe in balance and prioritize balancing a fast-paced western lifestyle with the slow pace and sense of peace that the natural world provides.
